Some of the ancient Israelites ritually murdered their children.
Psalm 106:34-38 (NKJ)
34 They did not destroy the peoples,
Concerning whom the Lord had commanded them,
35 But they mingled with the Gentiles
And learned their works;
36 They served their idols,
Which became a snare to them.
37 They even sacrificed their sons
And their daughters to demons,
38 And shed innocent blood,
The blood of their sons and daughters,
Whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan;
And the land was polluted with blood.
Psalm 53:5-6 (BCP — i.e., Book of Common Prayer, 1662 version)
Are they not without understanding that work wickedness, eating up my people as if they would eat bread?
they have not called upon God.
There were they afraid, where no fear was;
for God has scattered the bones of him that besieged thee:
thou hast put them to confusion, because God hath despised them.
We can take comfort from this line in Psalm 53, “God has scattered the bones of him that besieged you.”
God has overpowered Satan. God has scattered the bones of the servants/agents of Satan. God cast Lucifer out of heaven. Jesus saw Lucifer being cast out of heaven (Luke 1o:18).
God took on the form and flesh of man, died on the Cross, and was resurrected from death.
God’s plan trumps Satan’s plan.
Satan did and does his utmost to besiege you.
But God has scattered the bones of him that besieged you.

Psalm 16:4-5 (BCP)
They that run after another god shall have great trouble.
Their drink-offerings of blood I will not offer, / neither make mention of their names with my lips.
Psalm 64:1-6 (BCP)
Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: / preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
Hide me from the secret council of the wicked, / and from the throng of evildoers;
Who have whet their tongue like a sword, / and aimed their arrows, even bitter words;
That they may privily shoot at him that is perfect: / suddenly do they shoot at him and fear not.
They encourage themselves in mischief, / and commune among themselves how they may lay snares, and say that no man shall see them.
They imagine wickedness, and practise it; / and the inward thought and heart of every one of them is deep.
