Evildoers catch/ seize/ snatch/ ravish. God is more powerful than Satan.

Evildoers lurk to snatch the poor, seizing and ravishing the people they target. Wolves hunt to catch sheep. Let me show you some words and passages from the Bible which say this.

Psalm 10, 1662 Book of Common Prayer (minimally updated to modern English)
9 For he lies waiting secretly, as it were lion in his den; / he lurks that he may ravish the poor.
10 He ravishes the poor, / when he gets him into his net.
11 He stoops down and crouches, / that the poor may fall into the hands of his captains.
12 He has said in his heart, “Tush, God hath forgotten; / he hides away his face, and he will never see it.”

Psalm 10, Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)
he lurks in secret like a lion in a thicket.
He lurks in order to seize the afflicted;
he seizes the afflicted and drags him in his net.
10 So he is oppressed and beaten down;
the helpless fall because of his strength.
11 He says to himself, “God has forgotten;
He hides His face and will never see.”

The words ravish / seize which I emphasised above are translations of the Hebrew word chataph חָטַף. That word occurs only three times in the Old Testament; twice in Psalm 10 and once in the book of Judges. To talk about its use in Judges I’ll need to explain the backstory.

Judges 21 recounts a historical event in the early history of the Israelites. The offspring of the 12 sons of Jacob became known as twelve tribes of Israel. Chapters 19 & 20 of the book of Judges recount how and why an inter-tribal war was fought between the tribes of Jacob, one tribe against the other eleven tribes, and how the eleven tribes eventually defeated the one tribe. Chapter 21 of Judges recounts what happened after that war—men prioritised the feelings of other men over the feelings of women and the choices women might wish to exercise in saying who they will marry.

The men from the eleven victorious tribes invited and allowed the surviving men from the defeated tribe to seize/ snatch/ catch their daughters and take them as wives.

In other words, these men — from all 12 tribes of Jacob – collectively deemed that the feelings, preferences, dignity, and choices of young women were less important than the need for men from the defeated tribe to get wives and thereby produce offspring to enable the defeated tribe to keep on going down the generations.

Please don’t think this story is recorded in the Bible to encourage such callous behaviour by men. Quite the opposite. This story (like all historical narratives in the Bible) has been recorded and preserved for our instruction. We need to read it with wisdom, bearing in mind that the refrain throughout the Book of Judges is “In those days, men did what was right in their own eyes.”

In my view, this account in Judges 21 shows us how easily male human beings can collectively decide to prioritise the feelings and preferences of men over the feelings and preferences of women. It illustrates how easily men can join together to entice/ persuade/ push a certain course of action on women so that men can catch and seize those women. You can watch more about it here: My video on The Levite’s Concubine — Judges 19-21.

Now we can look at where Judges 21 uses the Hebrew word chatap חָטַף.

ESV  20 And they commanded the people of Benjamin, saying, “Go and lie in ambush in the vineyards 21 and watch. If the daughters of Shiloh come out to dance in the dances, then come out of the vineyards and snatch each man his wife from the daughters of Shiloh, and go to the land of Benjamin.

NIV  20 So they instructed the Benjamites, saying, “Go and hide in the vineyards 21 and watch. When the young women of Shiloh come out to join in the dancing, rush from the vineyards and each of you seize one of them to be your wife. Then return to the land of Benjamin.

KJV  20 Therefore they commanded the children of Benjamin, saying, Go and lie in wait in the vineyards; 21 And see, and, behold, if the daughters of Shiloh come out to dance in dances, then come ye out of the vineyards, and catch you every man his wife of the daughters of Shiloh, and go to the land of Benjamin.

New Testament

There is a word in the New Testament which is roughly equivalent to the Hebrew word chataph חָטַף. This word is harpazō ἁρπάζω. It means to seize, carry off by force / to seize on, claim for one’s self eagerly / to snatch out or away. (link)

All the passages below are from the New Matthew Bible Version (NMB). Each rendering of the Greek work harpazō is emphasised in bold. First I will give the passages in the New Testament that speak about how Satan and his agents do their utmost to snatch away Truth and carry off people by force. Then I will show you the good news — that God’s power to ‘catch up’ is greater than Satan’s.

Satan and his agents snatch the Truth away and carry off people by force

John 10:11-13
[Jesus said:] 11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives his life for the sheep. 12 But a hired servant, who is not the shepherd, neither are the sheep his own, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep, and flees; and the wolf catches them, and scatters the sheep. 13 The hired servant flees because he is a hired servant, and does not care for the sheep.

Matthew 11:12
From the time of John the Baptist to now, the kingdom of heaven is sorely pressed, and those who go to it with effort seize it for themselves.

Matthew 13:19
Whosoever hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, there comes the evil one, and catches away that which was sown in his heart; and this is he who received the seed by the wayside.

John 6:15
When Jesus perceived that they wanted to come and take him up to make him king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone.

Acts 23:10
And when great controversy arose, the captain, fearing lest Paul should be pulled apart by them, commanded the soldiers to go down and take him from among them, and to bring him into the castle.

God has the power to transport his people supernaturally: from one place to another on this physical earth, or from this physical earth to heaven.

Acts 8:39
And as soon as they had come out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught Philip away, and the chamberlain saw him no more. And he went on his way rejoicing.

2 Cor 12:2-4
I know a man in Christ about fourteen years ago (whether he was in the body I cannot tell, or whether he was out of the body I cannot tell, God knows) who was taken up into the third heaven. And I know the same man (whether in the body or out of the body I cannot tell, God knows), how he was taken up into Paradise and heard words not to be spoken, which no man can utter.

Rev 12:5
And she brought forth a man child who was to rule all the nations with a rod of iron. And her Son [Jesus Christ] was taken up to God and to his seat.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
I would not, brethren, have you be ignorant concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow like others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, so then also those who sleep in Jesus, God will bring again with him. And this we say to you in the word of the Lord: we who live and are remaining at the coming of the Lord will not precede those who sleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, and the voice of the archangel, and the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will arise first. Then shall we who live and remain be caught up with them also in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. And so shall we ever be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.

When a person trusts in God’s promises, nothing can snatch that person out of God’s hand.

John 10:27-28
[Jesus said:] My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me, and I give to them eternal life. And they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

Why is the church so slow at responding rightly to the epidemic of abuse?

I see ‘c’hristian organisations:

  • abusing vulnerable people in the pews
  • abusing church attenders who blow the whistle on abusers
  • dragging their feet when it comes to responding justly to victims and  preventing further abuse

I see many leaders in the ‘c’hurch using weasel words, evasion, obfuscation, lies and half truths, virtue signalling. I see them breaking promises and focusing on their own image-management.

Why is the ‘c’hurch so slow at responding rightly to the epidemic of abuse?

  • Is it a lack of education or training?
  • Wrong teaching by church leaders?
  • Wrong doctrine?

Yes, those things are part of the problem. But there is a deeper reason. The rot goes deeper. The mystery of iniquity goes deeper.

Most / All Christian denominations and organisations have been infiltrated by evildoers. The corruption and deception is far deeper than many Christians realise.

Evildoers who masquerade as Christians have mastered the art of wearing sheep’s or shepherd’s clothing.

They have chosen to grossly indulge in the lusts of the flesh when Satan offered them those pleasures and they chose to accept his offer. They have chosen to enjoy the gifts that Satan offers them: wealth and power to intimidate and control other people.

By their choice to keep on suppressing their conscience they are (have become) psychopaths.

The Bible calls psychopaths—children of the devil, sons of Belial.

Psychopaths are human agents in a designed scheme that is masterminded by Satan/Lucifer.

The mystery of iniquity is masterminded by Satan.

In subsequent posts I will be featuring testimonies from people who have suffered extreme abuse from evildoers. Many of the testimonies will be from professing Christians. Some will be from survivors of Torture Based Mind Control, Child Trafficking, Satanic Ritual Abuse. Some will be from whistle-blowers who are advocating for the survivors.

The devil is Satan… otherwise known as Lucifer.

How can we be sure that Lucifer is Satan? Here’s an article which will take you only a minute or two to read. It sets out what the Bible says about Lucifer: Is Lucifer Satan?

I write the word Satan with a capital S because I know he is a formidable enemy. Writing his name in the lower case does not make him any less dangerous: it only comforts the timid sheep who flinch from the reality of how formidable and cunning and crafty Satan is.

Lucifer is not God. Lucifer never was God. Lucifer never will be God.

He is only a created being— one of the many angelic beings which God created. Lucifer in his pride wanted to be revered as God.

Lucifer was, is, and will always be a created being

God created the heavens (the cosmos), the earth, all the angelic beings, all the human beings, the animals, the plants and the microorganisms. (Genesis 1)

Lucifer appears to have been one of the archangels.  But in his pride Lucifer intransigently set himself in rebellion against God.  God cast Lucifer out of heaven. It was a just and right consequence for an archangel who thinks he is God. Lucifer brought his perdition on himself.

That’s the story of Lucifer the fallen angel. In the Bible and in everyday speech we call him Satan, the devil, the evil one, the adversary, the father of lies.

Satan is crafty and devious, cunning, beguiling. He weaves webs of lies and deception. He puts on and takes off multiple masks. He switches and adapts his masks to whatever he thinks will best work to entrap people – to suck them in and blind them so they end up with him in the Lake of Fire.

Satan can be intimidating, confusing, domineering, scornful, nice as pie, disrespectful, generous, punitive, ingratiating, arrogant, obsequious, terrifying, bewitching, glamorous, a towering inferno, humble, sympathetic, stony, foul mouthed, soft as butter, pitiful, distracting, empathetic, enticing, obscure, exciting, charismatic, mysterious, stealthy, angelic, covert, in your face, munificent, malignant, benevolent, nefarious, hurtful, helpful, cruel, malicious, vindictive, — anything and everything apart from being consistently HONEST and TRUE and TRUSTWORTHY in both word and deed.

God is honest, true, trustworthy, righteous, just, merciful, loving and forgiving to all who in humility and honesty seek him, turn from their sins, and trust in his promises.

Evildoers have infiltrated and captured all the major institutions of society.  I encourage you to watch this video by Dr Katherine Horton. She explains how evildoers capture organisations and institutions in society.  The link takes you to part 4 of her series Fighting Psychopathic Systems.

The Nazi mindset and methods are alive and well and thriving in the world. They have developed much more sophisticated methods than they were using during the second world war. What they’ve been doing has been covered up for a long time, but it is being exposed. More and more victims are recovering their memories. They are sharing their testimonies on social media because the mainstream media is infiltrated by the evildoers.

Professing Christians need to wake up and pay attention. Otherwise their profession of Christ is lukewarm and shallow. What does God do with lukewarm believers? He spews them out of his mouth (Rev. 3:16 — read it for yourself).

To folks who do not know Jesus but are courageously standing against the global network of evildoers:  Thank-you for standing up against the pedo degenerates who are serving the plan that is masterminded by Satan. Thank you for exposing and denouncing the evildoers. I wish more Christians would do what you are doing!  I hope each and every one of you comes to know Jesus Christ personally as your Lord and Saviour.

If you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, please be brave and ask God to help you be vigilant and discerning so you do not succumb to the strong delusion.

Why I talk about the mystery of iniquity and the strong delusion.

The mystery of iniquity and the strong delusion are biblical terms

“For the mystery of that iniquity does he already work, which only locks until it is taken out of the way.” (2 Thessalonians 2:7)

How can we understand this? I do not know. But I know it is something to deeply ponder.

Let us read it in context. 2 Thessalonians 2:3-17 (link) —

Let no man deceive you by any means. For the Lord comes not unless there come a departing first and that sinful man be revealed – the son of perdition, who is an adversary, and is exalted above all that is called God or that is worshipped, so that he shall sit as God in the temple of God and show himself as God.

Do you not remember that when I was still with you, I told you these things? And now you know what withholds, so that he may be manifest at his time. For the mystery of that iniquity does he already work, which only locks until it is taken out of the way. And then shall that wicked one be exposed, whom the Lord will consume with the Spirit of his mouth, and will destroy with the appearance of his coming – namely him whose coming is by the working of Satan, with all lying power, signs, and wonders, and in all the deceptiveness of unrighteousness among those who are perishing. They perish because they would not receive the love of the truth, so that they might have been saved. And therefore God will send them strong delusion, so that they will believe lies; so that all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God has from the beginning chosen you for salvation, through sanctifying by the Spirit and through believing the truth, to which he called you by our gospel, to obtain the glory that comes of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, brethren, stand fast. And keep the ordinances that you have been taught, whether it was by our preaching or by epistle.

May our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father who has loved us, and has given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts and establish you in all doctrine and good-doing.

Now I will repeat verses 3-12, showing some words in bold.

Let no man deceive you by any means. For the Lord comes not unless there come a departing first and that sinful man be revealed – the son of perdition, who is an adversary, and is exalted above all that is called God or that is worshipped, so that he shall sit as God in the temple of God and show himself as God.

And now you know what withholds, so that he may be manifest at his time. For the mystery of that iniquity does he already work, which only locks until it is taken out of the way. And then shall that wicked one be exposed, whom the Lord will consume with the Spirit of his mouth, and will destroy with the appearance of his coming – namely him whose coming is by the working of Satan, with all lying power, signs, and wonders, 10 and in all the deceptiveness of unrighteousness among those who are perishing. They perish because they would not receive the love of the truth, so that they might have been saved. 11 And therefore God will send them strong delusion, so that they will believe lies; 12 so that all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

The strong delusion

Notice this: the one who sends the strong delusion is God (verse 11). God allows and ordains that all who will not receive the love of the truth will be strongly deluded by the deceptions of the evil one.

The evil and deception that is in this world is beyond the understanding of any one of us as individual human beings.

Each of us as individual human beings, and all of us collectively, cannot comprehend or plumb the depth of evil in this world.

It would be hubris to think that as mere human beings we can discern all the deceptions of the evil one. While I urge each and every one of us to strive to discern and see through the deception, we as human beings cannot solve the problem of evil. But God understands. God is across it all. And God offers us a way out. He came into this world as a man and bore in his own flesh the punishment for all evildoing. He did this out of love.

God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked

“God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked.” (Exekiel 18:23, click here to read it in context)

“No one who believes in him [Jesus] will perish, but will have eternal life. For God so loves the world, that he has given his only Son, so that none who believe in him should perish, but should have everlasting life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but so that the world through him could be saved. Whoever believes on him shall not be condemned. But whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he does not believe in the name of the only Son of God. And this is the condemnation: that light has come into the world, and men loved darkness more than light, because their deeds were evil.” (John 3:15-19, click here to read it in context)

Jesus said: “Heaven and earth shall perish, but my words will abide.” (Matthew 24:35)

“The Lord is not slack to fulfil his promise, as some count slackness, but is patient toward us, and would have no one lost, but would receive all to repentance. Nevertheless, the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which day the heavens shall perish with terrible noise, and the elements shall melt with heat, and the earth with the works that are in it shall burn.
If all these things will perish, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy living and godliness, looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, in which the heavens shall perish with fire and the elements shall be consumed with heat? Nevertheless, we look for a new heaven and a new earth according to his promise, wherein righteousness dwells.” (2 Peter 3:9-13)

Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me, and I give to them eternal life. And they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father who gave them to me is greater than all, and no one is able to take them out of my Father’s hand.” (John 10:27-29)
